For e-commerce  that do niche sales, such as a website that sells baseball cards, affiliate marketing is perhaps the marketing strategy for generating sales. This is also the best way to reward your customers by rewarding them for referring you more new business.

This marketing strategy process is like this:  you set up affiliate program to allow affiliates to promote your products. The affiliates can use social medias for promotion or use their websites to host links to your product’s sale page. They will be paid by a percentage of a sale or a flat fee as a commission when people follow the link and make a purchase of your products.

There are numerous benefits to using affiliate marketing as a primary marketing strategy for your e-commerce.

That’s where your customers can be found concentrated in today’s Internet age. You have targeted audience for doing so.

Two points to consider when looking for these blogs to plant your affiliate links:

  • The blogs need high traffic in their own right in order to generate meaningful traffic from the links to your own site.
  • The products need to be relevant to the blog.

The greatest results using affiliate marketing will come from blogs where there is trust between the readership and the publisher and the author has a degree of authority on what you’re selling. Then, their authority can sell the products to your niche market.

In order for the authors of the blogs to be successful in promoting your affiliate products, they needs to actually be invested in writing good sales copy, authoritative on the product, and selling the links to the readership.

The selling point for them is this: They can make money through affiliate marketing on a product related to their blog with which they have familiarity, however they don’t have to produce the product, manage the sale, or handle inventory or delivery. It’s a relatively an easy way for a blog to generate profit from having a readership. There are numerous blogs looking for ways to generate profit and serving in an affiliate marketing role for a niche e-commerce site for which they have an affinity or interest has much greater appeal than obnoxious pay per click ads or trying to sell something themselves.

By building contacts and relationships among these blogs, a niche e-commerce site can build up an effective network of affiliate marketers for their site. In managing such affiliated blogs and websites, it’s important that niche e-commerce sites’ owners understand their affiliating blog’s needs and goals.

Many bloggers are part-time writers who have other jobs. Managing them may require adhering to a non-traditional schedule of communication, helping them promote the affiliate links, and providing know-how and resources in placing the links and promoting them on their sites. Here the tremendous advantage of affiliate marketing comes into play. Because they are paid by commission, it’s in the best interests of the blogs’ authors to work with you in promoting the affiliate links and generating the best results.

Finally there’s a more intensive option, that is to build and maintain a real blog of your own, devoted to the topics and interests of your consumer base. By investing in a full-time writer and blog you can build relationships with other blogs that might serve as affiliate sites, draw traffic to your main site and more links to your products. Essentially you are offering your consumers a free product: the content of the blog, in the hopes of generating traffic and sales for your niche e-commerce websites.

These are some of the main methods that a niche e-commerce website can use to employ affiliate marketing as a cheap but highly effective marketing strategy of generating sales and accessing potential consumers through the blog-sphere.
