Google Adsense is probably the most popular affiliate advertising network because Google is the biggest and most popular search engine on the planet. They run the Google Adsense network and their stipulations for letting people run adverts on their website is not as stringent as many others. It is also an honest company that is unlikely to defraud you out of money in the same way that some other affiliate advertising networks will.

Here are ten tips to help you make money with Adsense:

1 – Your website should have a use that draws people in

The biggest goal for your website should be that it has a “use”. If it does not have a use, then what is to distinguish it from a spam website?

If your website has a use then people will link to it organically and talk about it on social media, They will mention it in articles and tell their friends and all of these things eventually add up to you being better off via your affiliate advertising earning.

2 – Drive more traffic and improve your earning chances

The more traffic that visits your site then the higher the chances that you can make money with Adsense. It is not a guarantee and there are many variables, but as a general and broad rule it seems to work. The more people you have visiting your site then the higher the chances that at least one of them will click on your adverts.

3 – Improve the SEO of your website and more people will visit

If you improve the SEO of your website then Google is going to send more people your way. You should also take note that when Google have updated their search engine the last few times–their earnings have gone up. This leads many to believe that they are pushing websites with their Google Adsense adverts up the search engine results, so it is a good idea to be very search engine friendly.

4 – Promote your website to get more people to visit

If you go out of your way to promote your website, then it stands to reason that more people will visit and more people will click on your adverts. As previously mentioned, there are a lot of variables and a lot of reasons why promoting your website may do you no good at all, but it stands to reason that promoting your website is going to get more people to visit and thereby increase your chances of getting clicks.

5 – Run adverts that suit your website

This is just common sense, but you are not going to sell My Little Pony on your motorcycle website and you are not going to sell baby shoes on your pet toys website.

6 – Write positive reviews of the types of items you advertise

Be wary of writing reviews of specific brands or products as their adverts may be discontinued next month, but review the types of items you sell. For example, do not promote a brand of carpet washer but promote the idea of using a carpet washer (assuming they are what you advertise on your affiliate adverts).

7 – Target the types of keywords that potential buyers use

Look at your affiliate adverts and figure out what type of people would buy those products. You then target those types of people using the keywords that they themselves would type into the search engine if they were looking to buy. This will draw them to your website and improve your chances of getting clicks.

8 – Add in two adverts at the most

Just because you are able to add in more than one advert (unit) per page does not mean you should. Just one advert in the top right hand corner should suffice. Google does allow you to have more than one advert per page, but I recommend to add at most two adverts each page, this will not distract your readers from reading your articles, which is the purpose why they are there.

9 – Render quickly, load quickly

If your website renders quickly then people are less likely to think it is a scam site, if it loads quickly then they are less likely to bounce, and if it looks like a genuine and good website then people will trust you enough to click your adverts.

10 – Follow the rules to the letter to be sure you are not banned

The rules themselves are tips in how to earn more money. If you go through the rules you will see guidelines that in themselves are going to improve your earnings with Google Adsense. It is also the smart move to follow the rules to the letter because it puts you above all the competition that do not follow the rules and are subsequently banned.
